It’s time for all of us to roar our support for more active parkways. It’s as simple as getting out on your bike, on foot
or on your roller of choice on Saturday, 25 September, ideally in the morning, and go for a ride on any of the national capital parkways. No speeches, no marches … just spending some time enjoying the parkways. Raindate: Sunday, 26 September.
A regular weekend day might get 4,000 active transportation users on the parkways. Can we get 5,000 people to get out and tell the world that they want more of this?
If you want to ride with others, there will be two leisurely group rides leaving at 9:30am on Saturday:
- Flora Footbridge (Colonel By Drive at Clegg Ave)
- Aviation Museum parking lot (George Etienne Cartier Parkway at Aviation Parkway)
More information on Eventbrite.
Look forward to seeing you there.
I frequently ride my bike on the Parkway from the War museum to Lincoln Fields on weekends in the afternoon. It’s unfortunate if the ‘counting’ stops at noon.
The counting happens all weekend – so you will be counted! Happy riding.
