Parkways for People is holding its next community discussion on Wednesday, 1 December at 7:30-9:00pm (via Zoom) covering options for Colonel By Drive.
Ottawa Centre MP Yasir Naqvi proposed, during the recent federal election, that the 2021 pilot reserving CBD for active users be restarted in 2022 for a full year. One nearby community association has expressed concerns with the impact on neighbouring streets. Others have called for more ambitious options for CBD.
Our December 1 session will explore these different options in detail. Event details and registration information to follow shortly.
Thank you Parkways for People for helping with such ambitious changes! It’s great to see that Ottawa is making strides to make it easier for active transportation and pedestrians alike! I most definitely agree with any and all options that involve greater and safer use of such vital infrastructure. That being said I would like to point out that we have made such a beautiful path along the river that is supposed to be for the people, yet there are so very few safe crossings. If this is for the people then the people need to be able to access it. There should at the very least be safe crossings at every major road, especially Bank and Bronson.
